DAY 177 - COUNTING DOWN TO THE 50TH

GOOD AFTERNOON, CLASS OF '64

We've reached mid February, already. As the years are added, the days seem to slide by more quickly than when our time was younger. Bodies might have slowed down a bit, and we probably never imagined it would happen. Who thought about arthritis back in 1964, or a 50th class reunion? Memory for yesterday things might not be as crystal clear for some of us. Some of those memories we hold as a group, but other memories belong to us alone. February will fade into March, followed too swiftly by April, May and June. Time will pass. That's what time does.

A mellow song about time:
Nat King Cole - Time And The River - 1960

Time and the river,
How swiftly they go by.
But my heart will beat for no other
Till time stands still and the river runs dry.

Who in the world would've ever known
What Columbus could do
If Queen Isabella hadn't hocked her jewels
In fourteen ninety two

But she had timin'
A tick, a tick, a tick, good timin'
A tock, a tock, a tock, a tock
A timin' is the thing
It's true, good timin' brought me to you
